When we started North Point Community Church 30 years ago, Atlanta didn’t need another church; it needed a different kind of church. A church committed to being outward focused. A church designed for those in the community who didn’t think church was for them.
In those 30 years, we’ve learned a thing or two about creating that kind of church. We are committed to leveraging all we’ve learned to expand the reach of our local church network as well as our national and international networks.
Local NPM Network
The Deeper/Wider initiative will provide permanent homes for two of our current churches as well as launch two new Atlanta-area locations.
East Cobb Church
Located at the intersection of Johnson Ferry and Shallowford Roads, East Cobb Church will provide a strategic presence. Positioned in between North Point Community Church, Buckhead Church, and Woodstock City Church, this location will make it easy for those in that area who are seeking to invite their unchurched friends and family. The 125,000-square-foot facility will offer all the Sunday ministry environments our attendees love.
Decatur City Church
For the past nine years, Decatur City Church has impacted the east side of Atlanta while housed in a rental facility. Their current lease at Clairmont and North Druid Hills Roads runs out in four years, but our hope is to find them a permanent home. We want to continue life-changing work in this strategic in-town community.
New Strategic Locations
While we want to secure permanent locations for our current churches, we don’t want our impact in the Atlanta area to end there. The Deeper/Wider Initiative will enable us to secure two new strategic locations to help us reach even more people.
Expanding Our Church Networks
The vision of the Irresistible Church Network is to establish an outward-facing church in every community. A lofty goal, yes, but more attainable than you might imagine. The ICN team has developed a strategy for identifying or planting churches in 350 key communities across the US, which will provide an outward-facing church within a reasonable driving distance of every major community.
This initiative will provide critical funding to expand ICN from its current 97 churches to the 350 needed and beyond, which should increase the number of people impacted from 550,000 to over 1.8 million in 10 years.
International Church Networks
As we continue to grow our four current international partnerships, our plan is to launch two more international networks as well. We are currently looking at opportunities in Brazil and West Africa. All this growth is projected to generate 650 international church partners, impacting more than 525,000 people.
The Financial Need
This expansion of our ministry footprint will require $68 million. But this investment will produce nearly 30% growth in our capacity for life transformation throughout our church network.
