I came to North Point Community Church in 2008 at the invitation of a friend. In fall of 2010, I started dating a woman, and as our first date was concluding and I was trying to negotiate our second date, she said she would be out of town next week at a singles event with her church. I realized she also went to North Point. Fast-forward, we have raised two children in North Point's children’s environments, led a married small group, and I have been a Transit leader for the last two years.
What gets me most excited about engaging in the Deeper/Wider vision and initiative is growing children’s and student ministries. I honestly believe we are seeing a shift in Gen Z and later generations engaging with their churches and returning to church. The most amazing volunteers at North Point Community Church are our high school volunteers who volunteer in our Wamba Land, UpStreet, and Transit ministries. They are giving out of what some would say are the best years of their lives. They are piled up with AP courses, dual enrollment, and a hyper-competitive environment to get into college. But they show up, they engage, and they deliver.
